Oil Dependency

February 9, 2007

Dealing with dependency
Requires breaking the grip
Of one's opiate.

Narcotic fears lie to us:
Oil and fossil fuels are good
For the world economy
And pose few threats
To the environment.

Face down these lies.
Resolve to face the truth
Unafraid and with determination.

Fossil fuels drive us
Even more insidiously
Than cocaine and amphetamines
Push their depraved junkies.

Our first woman President
Is well and best-suited
To bring strength
And compassion to
Our despotic enslavement
To oil and fossil fuels.

The old way of
Blind dependency
Must be discredited.
Oil is not king.

Wanton demands
For speed,
Muscle-bound capacities,
And excessively luxurious features
Must be curbed.

Speed and his brothers kill,
Betray our world,
And pollute our minds,
Bodies and environs.

Through friendly persuasion
Our new President
Can break the old mindset.
Energy does not equal fossil fuels.

Oil companies must help
Lead us out of this crisis
Or get out of the business.

Give consumers
Viable energy alternatives
Sooner rather than later.

Innovate new energy paradigms
That empower us
Without driving us to guzzle,
Pollute and squander.

President Hillary Clinton
Can lead the world
Out of our energy sickness
By calling for a new order
In energy, technology,
And the environment.

We can learn
From the world's
Best energy solutions.

Power, grace, and
Gradual progress
Will free us from
Our fears and
Oil dependency.

The time has come
For Hillary Clinton's
Leadership.

The Time Has Come

February 5, 2007

Remember the hype in 1976
When our nation celebrated
200 years of history?

The largest fireworks ever.
Extravaganzas
On every shore and byway.
Parades, marching bands,
Soldiers, veterans,
And flags, flags were everywhere.

Soon in 2008
We, the people
Of the United States of America,
Will accomplish
What could not be done
In 232 years.

That's right
The good ol' USofA
Is 0 for 232 years
On this one.

But don't cry for me Argentina.
Don't laugh at me Margaret Thatcher.

The time has come.
That's right.
No more tryin'.
No more foot'n around.

We are not just talk'n th' talk
No sir. No hoopla. No hype.
No more also rans.
No contenter who fades
In the primaries.

We have shopped around long enough.
And brothers and sisters
I'm telling you straight.
The simple truth is
The time has come.

I stand as a witness to you
Speaking from my head
As well as from deep within
My heart and soul.

Over sixty years old
My generation arrived
After World War Two.
The United Nations
Was born in our time.

We helped put a man on the moon
We are going to put families there soon.
We send women into outer space.
We even send women into combat.

Our mothers and daughters,
Our sisters, wives, and best friends,
Our women serve bravely and
Honorably along with our men.

In the carnage of war
Some of these heroines
Are wounded or killed in action.
We will always honor
Their memories and sacrifices.

We witnessed women graduate
With high academic honors.
We have watched
And worked for women
With strength, integrity, and wisdom.

We have seen women promoted
To senior leadership positions
In business, the military,
And throughout all levels of
Law enforcement, the Government,
The Judiciary, and the Supreme Court.

There are women Governors.
There are women in the Senate.
There are women in the Congress.

The Speaker of the House
For the first time in our history
Is a woman, a Democrat,
A leader of her political party,
And a strong voice of leadership
For our human rights and
For the laws that govern us.

Now mark my words
The time has come.
I will not miss this
Once in a lifetime opportunity.
Join us now the time has come.

In 2008, the people of
The United States of America
Will elect the first woman as
President of the United States.

I firmly believe that woman is
The Honorable Senator
From the State of New York -
Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Count my vote now for the next
President of the United States -
Our first woman President
In 232 years -
Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The time has come.
The time has come.
Join us now.
Vote Hillary Rodham Clinton
For President
The time has come.
